Captain Nichol M. Schine hails from Littleton, Colorado and joined the Navy as an Electronics Technician in 1986, promoted to Chief in 1997 and received her commission as a Surface Electronics Limited Duty Officer in 1999.
Qualified as Officer of the Deck underway on four ships, Tactical Action Officer on two platforms; she earned distinction as Carrier Strike Group Nine Ship-Handler of the Year in 2006 and was honored by peer-nominated award for Leadership Excellence in 2015. Her tours afloat include USNS ANDREW J. HIGGINS (TAO 190), USS MCKEE (AS 41), USNS POINT LOMA (TAGOS 2), PCU USS DONALD COOK (DDG 75), USS GONZALEZ (DDG 66), USS ROSS (DDG 71), USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72), USS VELLA GULF (CG 72), USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN 75) and USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71).
Captain Schine’s previous shore assignments include: Combat Systems Technical Schools Command, Mare Island, CA; Fleet Combat Training Center Atlantic, Dam Neck, VA; Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Puerto Rico; Commander Naval Air Forces Atlantic, Norfolk, VA; and Afloat Training Group San Diego, CA. A Master Training Specialist, she was twice selected as Instructor of the Year in 1994 and 1996. She served as the Commanding Officer of Mobile Mine Assembly Group and as Force Combat Systems Officer (N435) Commander Naval Air Forces Pacific in San Diego, CA and as Lead Strike Force Interoperability Officer Pacific, Naval Information Forces in San Diego, CA. She is currently serving as Technical Director Information Warfare Readiness Directorate and Overmatch Lead Naval Information Forces in San Diego, CA.
Awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (8 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6 awards), and various tour and campaign awards.
